After 34 days, 13 playoff games, and hundreds of entry picks from 103 contestants, the winner of this year's NFL playoffs contest is Ray A! He scored a total of 3,370 points throughout the four weeks and correctly guessed the victors of 12 of the 13 playoff games, including the Super Bowl. He began the contest in 1st place, and finished atop the leaderboard to win the top cash prize of $258.
Blake T finished in 2nd place with 3,215 points, winning $103. In 3rd place is Brian A with a total of 3,100 points. He wins the 3rd place prize of $52. Ten contestants round out the Top 13, each winning $10: Anand G, Jack G, Karen R, Edward D, Aimee A, Tara H, Jacob B, Ed V, Morgan D, and Jeremy B. Congrats to the Top 13, especially for the first-time prize winners (Karen R, Tara H, Jacob B, Morgan D).

Overall, Blake T improved the most in the rankings, jumping up an impressive 94 places (from 96th to 2nd). Other contestants who made big comebacks in the contest were Florencio C (101st to 20th), Josh C (96th to 16th), Morgan D (84th to 12th), and Brian A (71st to 3rd). Karen R performed the best among the 13 newcomers this year, finishing in 6th place. Other notable rookies were Rhys C (15th), Jonathan B (18th) and Pat F (28th). There were a total of 34 contestants who were in the overall Top 13 at some point during the contest, and 9 contestants who made the overall Top 3. The contestants who scored the most points in WEEK 4 were: Xyla G (1,400 pts), Edward D (1,275 pts), Florencio C (1,275 pts), Jeremy B (1,275 pts), and Rob G (1,275 pts).

41 contestants correctly predicted that the Kansas City Chiefs would win Super Bowl LIX, but none of them got both the margin of victory and over/under correct as well. The Eagles denied the Chiefs a Super Bowl three-peat, with a dominant defense leading them to their 2nd Super Bowl championship.

9 of the Top 13 contestants correctly picked the Eagles to win -- that's how important the Super Bowl victor always is in determining this contest's winners. In an alternate universe where the Chiefs mounted a big comeback to win the Super Bowl, the Top 3 contestants would have been Brian A in 1st, Anand G in 2nd, and Jack G in 3rd!

Throughout this contest I've always tried to be as thorough as possible, double- and triple-checking the results every week. But there's always the possibility for human error, even when using an Excel spreadsheet to make all the calculations. So to give everyone a chance to review the accuracy of this contest's final results, I will wait a few days before sending the Top 13 contestants their cash prizes (via their online payment method of choice, or check/cash). During this time, if anyone finds any errors/discrepancies in the entry picks or leaderboard scores, please let me know right away. You will have until Wednesday, February 12 at 11am CST to inform me of any errors. After that time, I will award the winning contestants their prizes, and this year's contest will officially come to a close.
I hope you had as much fun with this contest as I did, and I look forward to doing it again next year. 'Til then, thanks for playing and God bless!
